Easter lambs

April 21, 2014

At 1:00 AM Easter Sunday one of our orginal ewes, Molly, gave birth to two ewe lambs. Both of the girls were quite large and vigerous. I just watched from the sidelines to make sure everyone was cleaned off and fed before I could get back to bed to try to get some rest before our guests arrived. No names yet.

The hard thing about so many black lambs is that they aren't very photogenic as they tend to look like silhoettes. They are also really hard to tell apart as white lambs tend to have more noticable features. The ear tags confirm identification but these little guys are hard to catch after 3 days of age so, we often just have to see who goes to what mom.
